Railway companies must check whether the vehicles they use are compatible with the infrastructure on which they are to be operated. This check (Route Compatibility Check – RCC) must be carried out for each train composition and each section of track. This obligation is stipulated in both the Austrian Railway Act (EisbG), Section 112(2), and the EU's TSI OPE. In addition to the initial check of each vehicle before its first use on a route, a check is required for each train journey.
The testing requirement applies to both traction vehicles and wagons in both passenger and freight transport. The train-related test covers, for example, traffic loads and load-bearing capacity of the infrastructure, gauge and clearance, minimum curve radius or train length.
The core of Routero RCC (Route Compatibility Check) as a software solution lies in the precise and efficient testing of the compatibility of rail vehicles with specific sections of track. Our software thus supports your railway company in complying with RCC specifications and processes.
Routero RCC supports a wide range of rail vehicles to ensure comprehensive compatibility testing.
The RCC is a mandatory test to ensure that trains are compatible with the infrastructure they are travelling on. This legally required test is based on EU specifications (TSI OPE) and national laws (e.g. §112 EisbG). It covers numerous technical parameters and must be carried out for every train journey.
Routero RCC automates the previously manual, time-consuming and error-prone RCC check. The software reduces legal uncertainties, saves resources and facilitates short-term schedule changes by comparing data from the European Infrastructure Register (RINF) with the train parameters.
Small and medium-sized railway companies, which often have limited human and technical resources, benefit particularly from this. The automation of the RCC strengthens their competitiveness and facilitates access to international rail transport.
Routero RCC is provided as a standalone application – either hosted by the provider or locally at the customer's premises. The application has a modern, user-friendly front end that has been specially developed for the needs of railway companies. Users can enter vehicle and route data, create test reports and store them in an audit-proof manner with just a few clicks. The intuitive interface makes it easy to use even for non-technical users and reduces training requirements to a minimum.
